Lois Smith's “Burnaby's Best Baby” Trophy
The Artifact of the Month, October 2012

Lois Smith, a stunning and versatile dancer who became one of Canada's first professional ballerinas, was perfectly proportioned for a ballet career with her short torso and long limbs. Smith was a natural even though she started training late. Hear about her first moment in the spotlight in the “Burnaby's Best Baby” contest of 1930.
