Although her creative output slowed after leaving Le Groupe, Renaud continued to choreograph. Boneham invited Renaud to create a duet for Montreal dancers Sylvain Émard and Louise Bédard for Le Groupe's twenty-fifth anniversary gala performance in 1991, which was staged at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, the city to which the company had relocated in 1977. In the intervening years, Renaud's choreographic interests had evolved. The resulting dance was not defined by the investigations of creating shapes in space that had marked her style in the 1960s. Instead, the work had lyricism and fluidity, and an interest in the relationship and connection between the two dancers. It was a new and exciting direction from an artist who refused to rehash old ideas for the sake of audience expectations or sentimental nods to the past.
