REMEMBERING PATRICK PARSON

The staff of DCD are very sorry to hear about the passing of Patrick Parson, founder of Toronto-based Ballet Creole. Patrick was a progenitor of Afro-diasporic dance in Canada. As artist, choreographer, teacher, and mentor, he impacted the lives of so many artists in our community. In the 2023 issue of DCD Magazine, writer Emilie Jabouin contributed this profile about Patrick and his contributions. Our condolences to Patrick’s loved ones, friends, and the Ballet Creole family.
